Welcome, all presentations shown in class will be displayed on this page. Presentations will be animated which means that when you open up the presentations you click Slide Show .... then ... From Beginning. You can use this as a means of testing your knowledge.

On this page you will find material relating to the Adhesives. There is lots of information within the presentations, please follow the links (click images) and watch the videos. Presentations are also provided as PDF’s so that you can use the read aloud feature or screen readers. Quizzes are also provided in many different formats. You can answer quizzes using the PC or Phone or print and write out answers. Check the model answers using the Power Point or after you click submit on the MS Form.

Tip for Studying

The main areas that you need to concentrate on are what type of adhesive to use in each situation and give one reason for your choice.

Also know at least three advantages and three disadvantages of the main three adhesives ie. Animal/Hide glue, PVA and Urea Formaldehyde.

Rather than trying to remember all the different types of Glues and Adhesives instead try to understand the properties of each type and what application they are best suited for.

Apply what you are learning in theory to your practical classes and vice versa!
